It is not too late to become a Beach Watcher. Applications may be submitted until April 1st. Training will be held on Camano Island in April and September on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 4pm. The focus of the training will include watersheds and groundwater, marine biology and oceanography, salmon and nearshore habitats, intertidal beach monitoring, and coastal geology. There are several field trips during the training. There is a $40 fee to offset reproduction of training materials. Applications may be downloaded from the Beach Watchers website: www.beachwatchers.wsu.edu/island/about/training. You may also pick up an application at the Camano Beach Watcher office at 121 N.
