During the February Backyard Wildlife Program, Everett Chu, owner of Azusa Farm and Gardens, explained how to work with nature to create a landscape that is functional, inviting, and sustainable. Participants learned how to incorporate design elements to give structure and visual interest to the garden. Everett also demonstrated how to use native plants to not only make the landscape less work and more enjoyable, but also contribute to the well being of both family and the ecosystem. He brought 23 bee-friendly plants to demonstrate the design of a sustainable wildlife garden. Afterwards, he sold those plants and donated all the proceeds to the Camano Wildlife Habitat Project. Everett is a certified professional horticulturist and certified sustainable landscape professional (ecoPRO). Azusa Farm and Gardens, 14904 SR 20, Mount Vernon, includes a landscape design/build operation.
