Fall Native Plant Sale - Salal Chapter - Nov 14th

posted Oct 1, 2015, 7:48 PM by Roxie Rochat

The Salal Chapter of WNPS will be holding a native plant sale on November 14th, from 10 am to noon at the south end of the display garden.  Although our spring plant sale is always very popular, we would like to encourage more people to plant in the fall, when our cool, rainy weather makes survival of new plants more likely.

Keep in mind that our small plants in 4 inch pots generally cost $4. Gallon-potted plants are usually $6 to $8.

In the spring we will once again have a sale that includes many perennial flowers. And if you are looking for large quantities of native trees and shrubs be sure to watch for the conservation district plant sales that take place in Skagit, Whatcom, and Snohomish Counties. All have good selections of our native trees and shrubs and have eliminated the minimum purchase requirements. If you find the bundles of plants they sell are too much for you, you can share with your neighbors or donate the extras to the Salal Chapter for future sales.

Please email Brenda Cunningham, if you'd like a plant list or if you have any other questions.

The Salal Native Plant Garden is located behind the Master Gardener Display Garden at the NW Research Center on Memorial Highway (16650 SR 536), west of Mount Vernon. Built by volunteers from the Salal Chapter of the WA Native Plant Society, the garden is a terrific resource for homeowners who want to learn how to incorporate more native plants into their landscaping.
