It’s that time of year again, the magnificent Northwest Flower and Garden Show! This year’s show is celebrating its 28th Anniversary and is sure to have spectacular gardens! This amazing event brings together the region’s leading gardening experts and presents a range of educational, inspirational, and fun activities for gardeners and families. For more information please go to: http://www.gardenshow.com Are
you interested in attending this year’s show for FREE? Volunteer for
one, 3 hour shift at the National Wildlife Federation's educational
booth and you receive free entry to the show for that whole day. Feel
free to explore the show before or after your shift! This
year’s show runs from Wed Feb.17th through Sun Feb. 21st. The NWF’s
Regional Center will host a booth where we will share information on our
Certified Wildlife Habitat program which inspires individuals to
preserve, maintain, restore and create wildlife habitat for our native
animals and plants in the Pacific Northwest. We will have a focus on
container gardening this year to provide an example of how to create
wildlife habitat in an apartment or small office space. With your help
we can spread the news, no garden is too big or small to turn into a
wildlife-friendly habitat! Please
email a response back with your chosen volunteer days and times ASAP
since space is filled on a first-come first-serve basis. I will reply
with volunteer instructions and alternative dates/times if your request
is already filled.
