The birds at Iverson seemed to appreciate the foggy weather on Friday. At midday, there were many sparrows, finches, and a few warblers feasting on the crab apples and other fall fruits. Noisy Spotted Towhees joined Lincoln's, Savannah, White-crowned, Golden-crowned, and Song Sparrow foragers. English Boom was more quiet at 1pm, but it's often more active earlier in the day. Michael Willison reported Sharp-tailed Sandpipers and 7 other shorebird species on Sat on the Tweeters hotline, so that's still a possibility. Stay tuned for a Saturday scouting report for our Sunday trip. |
