Our next Habitat Stewards Meeting at the Camano Multipurpose Center is Wednesday, Feb. 16,  at 6 pm followed by the 7 pm program about How to Create a Backyard Wildlife Habitat. We're offering our Backyard Wildlife presentation to compensate for our canceling this Feb/March Habitat Stewards Training because of the low number of people registering and to offer a bit of an alternative for the people who did register.

Considering how far it is for speakers to come to Camano, we thought we'd be taking advantage of these speakers to offer the Habitat Stewards Training like in past years.  I don't know if we've saturated the market for the island or for this time of year.  Maybe the volunteer hours scared people away. We've had plenty of publicity, but the class is so small we decided not to offer the training.

Our meeting agenda includes programs,  future Habitat Stewards Training, and the Garden Tour. We're still searching for North End gardens, so if you have any ideas let us know!

We have been working on the Camano Wildlife Project since 2002, and  we continue with our vision of an Island in Harmony with Nature — One Yard at a Time!

Thanks!
Val
