*Roam the dikes and beaches of Camano Island from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM*
On this
field trip Ron and Sheila Pera will be wandering the dikes and beaches of Camano
Island in search of migratory shorebirds and waterfowl. Several stops on the
field trip are: Eide Road, now open after being closed during the bridge
construction, and the Livingston Bay Estuary. Along the way we will be checking
for birds of prey and LBJ (little brown jobs) in the trees and shrubs on the
island. A special treat may be hundreds of Whimbrels in the old dairy
fields. Beginning birders are welcome.
Be sure
to wear sturdy water repellent boots. Meet at 8:30AM in the parking lot of QFC
supermarket on SR 532 in downtown Stanwood to arrange carpooling. Binoculars and spotting scopes are recommended.
