Sun 3/25 1pm Field Trip: Discovering Mosses, Lichens, and Fungi with Russ Holmes

posted Mar 4, 2018, 1:01 PM by Roxie Rochat   [ updated Mar 15, 2018, 6:54 PM ]
Join Russ Holmes, retired forest service botanist, for a 1 to 2 mile walk through Four Springs Lake Preserve trails to identify some of the common Camano mosses, lichens, liverworts and fungi. See first hand the principles discussed in the March 21 Camano Wildlife Habitat education program.

The trail has some elevation gain and loss and can be wet and slippery in places. Dress in layers appropriate for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, bring a hand lens if you have one, and meet in the main parking lot, 585 Lewis Lane,  at 1 p.m., Sunday, March 25.

Tour will take place rain or shine, no reservations required.  Sorry, no dogs allowed on the guided walk.  This field trip is part of a public education series hosted by the Camano Wildlife Habitat Project, sponsored by Friends of Camano Island Parks.   For information, call 360-387-2236, visit or e-mail
