Conservation Futures Application Proposals to be Presented July 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.This
year’s applications for Conservation Future’s Acquisition Projects will
be presented to Board of Island County Commissioners on Tuesday, July
18 beginning at 10:00 a.m. The applications and the Citizens Advisory
Board’s (CAB) recommendations are available for review via the GSA
webpage, The public will have an opportunity for comment at the meeting. Your input is appreciated either at the meeting or through email in advance. To reach all three Commissioners direct your message to bicc@co.island.wa.us . A map of existing properties in Island County acquired with the support of Conservation Futures Funding is available here. The
Conservation Futures Program is a competitive annual grant funded
through a designated local property tax. Proposed projects are reviewed
and ranked by a Citizens Advisory Board and County Staff. Organizations
located within Island County eligible to apply for Conservation Futures
Funds are Island County government, cities, town, special purpose
districts, non-profit nature conservancy organizations (as defined in
RCW 84.34.250), and non-profit historic preservation organizations (as
defined in RCW 64.04.130). |
