posted Jun 2, 2015, 3:25 PM by Roxie Rochat

Bruce Lindsay, Skagit Master Gardener, will describe the nature and properties of the soils on Camano and Whidbey islands and how soil properties such as texture relate to wildlife habitat. The geology and genesis of soils will be discussed, and attendees will learn how to use soil information from the Web Soil Survey (soils maps at your fingertips!) Wed, June 17, 7 pm at the Camano Multipurpose Center 141 N East Camano Drive (Blue Building). Lindsay has mapped more than 2.5 million acres in Arizona, California, Nevada, Florida and Washington for the USDA Soil Survey Program. He has a B.S and M.S in Soil Science and a B.S and M.S in geology.  The Camano Wildlife Habitat Project, sponsored by Friends of Camano Island Parks, hosts public presentations the third Wednesday of the month.
