Wednesday, July 21, 7 pm — How to Create a Backyard Wildlife Habitat

posted Jul 20, 2010, 5:01 PM by Roxie Rochat
You've seen the "WOW" gardens on the Wildlife Habitat Garden Tour, now learn how to use some of those concepts in your own backyard. At 7 p.m. Wed., July 21, at the Camano Multipurpose Center, 141 East Camano Drive, Habitat Stewards will demonstrate simple ways to include the basic elements for attracting birds and butterflies — food, water, cover, and a place to rear young. They will also share ideas about green gardening practices that make yards safer for children, pets, and wildlife while improving water quality and protecting our natural resources. This presentation is part of a public education series hosted the third Wednesday of the month by the Camano Wildlife Habitat Project, sponsored by Friends of Camano Island Parks as part of the Island County watershed project.
