Because of Thanksgiving, our November Habitat Stewards Meeting at the Camano Multipurpose Center will be the second Wednesday of November, Wednesday, Nov. 14.
By working with nature in your yard, you can have a great looking landscape that's easier to care for and healthier for families, pets, wildlife and our great NW environment. Learn great ideas to help beautify your yard and put the rain to work.  Wed, Nov. 14, 7 p.m., at the Camano Multipurpose Center (blue building), 141 East Camano Drive, Stacy Aleksich, Low Impact Development (LID) Specialist with Snohomish Conservation District, will discuss several ways to use the rain including rain gardens, rain barrels, terraces, soil amendment, dealing with soggy spots, buffers, berms, layered plantings, permeable paths and more!
This presentation is part of a public education series hosted by the Camano Wildlife Habitat Project, sponsored by Friends of Camano Island Parks, as part of the Island County watershed project. For information about Camano's wildlife project, call 360-387-2236 or e-mail
