Learn how to capture and soak up stormwater runoff from your roof or other impervious surfaces around your home by creating a rain garden. At 7 p.m. Wed., Sept. 15, at the Camano Multipurpose Center, 141 East Camano Drive, Zsofia Pasztor, Certified Professional Horticulturist and Organic Landscape Designer, will explain what rain gardens are; share principles for the location, design and maintenance of them; and show the types of plants to install for beauty and function. Discover how rain gardens help protect water quality, provide habitat for wildlife, and reduce landscape maintenance. This presentation is part of a public education series hosted the third Wednesday of the month by the Camano Wildlife Habitat Project, sponsored by Friends of Camano Island Parks as part of the Island County watershed project.
